Tonight, the University of South Carolina showed their commitment and passion for making a difference in ending sexual violence, teaching consent, and supporting survivors of sexual assault. We started the day with a “Train the Trainer” dinner with the Peer Educators. They asked great questions to help themselves be even more powerful and effective when facilitating sessions with students on their campus. Throughout the dinner, we had some good laughs and shared lots of ideas.
Today at Fort Jackson in South Carolina, male and female soldiers spoke out against sexual assault; in support of survivors and loved ones; and stated the importance of being a “Battle Buddy” to STOP sexual assault from happening when someone tries to use alcohol as a date rape drug.
As a former USA Swimming Coach and club swimmer, I was extremely disappointed with Chuck W’s interview with 20/20 discussing sexual abuse of youth swimmers – by their coaches.
Today at Fort Detrick in Maryland, I was honored to be the opening speaker for their kickoff of Sexual Assault Awareness and Child Abuse Awareness Month.
